Here are 10 game industry lifehacks that might make your life 10x easier

Here are 10 game industry lifehacks that might make your life 10x easier...
1. You can turn YouTube videos into gifs by adding "gif" to the beginning of the URL. (www.gifyoutube.com/blahblahblah). This is perfect for extracting juicy gifs from let's plays of your indie game.
2. Love to play music while working on your indie game? Play a soundtrack from a video game. As they're designed to work as background music, they're great for not disrupting your focus.
3. If you aren't good enough at any particular game industry skill to stand out, be reliable. Showing up every day is more useful than being a flaky genius.
4. If you're a complete beginner, try searching google for "Things I wish I knew when starting ______" -- "Things I wish I knew when starting Unity" is a great one. Lots of protips.
5. If you're strapped for cash but are looking to add stuff to your game development cave, search Craigslist for "Divorce" to find good deals on used furniture, electronics, and office supplies.
6. Add a + to the first part of your email handle to prevent spam from hitting your inbox. This is great when you want to sign up for a game development newsletter or something but aren't sure if they're going to spam you. For example, yourname+spam@gmail.com and yourname@gmail.com lead to the same inbox.
7. When trying to come up with a creative game idea or fancy devblog title, don't sit there and try to think of the perfect one. Instead, write down every idea that pops into your head in notepad and don't stop until you have at least 10 ideas. Then, just choose the best one from that list of 10.
8. If you're at an industry convention and a booth has one of those "drop your business card in for a chance to win" bowls, bend your card slightly before dropping it in the bowl. Rumor has it that the person drawing will more likely pick a card that bends a bit more since it isn't laying flat at the bottom, although YMMV.
9. When attending conventions, write down a 30 second introduction of yourself and your indie game project. Memorize it. This way, if you get introduced to someone and have to tell a bit about yourself and what project you're currently working on, you'll sound a lot more confident.
10. If you're working at a game development company with a shared fridge, take a bite out of your food before putting it in the fridge. This will deter both sandwich and burrito thieves (you know who you are!)
